Renovation Report: Bathroom Pt. 2

As you might know, the reason Jacob is still in Sydney is that we are doing a massive renovation of our apartment (nothing in our apartment has been updated since at least the 60s if not earlier).  I thought people may be interested in seeing what we are doing, as well as provide us with a bit of an archive.  I’ve broken it down by room to make it easier and not such a long post.

Where we left off in the previous post:  lots of problems then I leave my husband to finish it while I gallivant around the US!  He is such a great husband.

After I left, Jacob had to finish up cutting and gluing the difficult wall tiles,  glue down the floor tiles, grout everything, hang a new ceiling, install new crown moulding, build the vanity, and get the glass shower screen installed. This included doing an awesome job of cutting slits in two wall tiles to form a wall vent. I told you he is a great husband.

Behold:

Walls Finished & Grouted

See those short tiles on the top of the short wall? All mitred. And those slits to form a wall vent?  Hand cut.

Floor Finished & Grouted

Great husband and his great mom grouting the floor.

Ceiling Hung & Crown Moulding Installed

Jacob had a great friend and great brother help him hang the ceiling, a very difficult task.

Vanity Begun

We bought the wood for the vanity before I left.  It’s Tasmanian Oak.

But working on the renovation is not all Jacob has been up to, he’s also been dealing with the contractor on the balcony/kitchen…
